Ever since the poster and teaser of Gumnaami have been released, it has remained in the headlines. The movie is all set to release on October 2. Ahead of the release, Srijit Mukherji has tried to clear the misunderstanding related to the movie. 

In a conversation with actor Prosenjit Chatterjee, who is also essaying the tutorial character in the film, Srijit explains what the film is basically all about. The whole conversation is in Bengali.

National award winner director said that the Gumnaami is not based on any Gumnaami baba but the film is about the possibilities of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose being alive. He even talk about the problems he faced while directing this movie. 

Prosenjit Chatterjee also explains that what he went through and reveals his preparation for the movie. 

The poster of the movie has created a lot of buzz on social media. It shows Prosenjit Chatterjee as Bose and a crashed aircraft with smoke billowing out of it. The poster asks, "Did he die in the plane crash? Did he die in Russia? Did he die as ascetic?"

The film is based on Gumnaami baba who was assumed to be the legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Baba led the life as Hindu saint in Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh in the 1970s or 80s. Netaji Bose died in a plane crash in 1945 which has been doubted by many.
